Colombia CMA team: November had Don in Cartagena, Colombia with a team from CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association) working alongside the Christians in Action churches there. CMA provided transportation for 6 pastors there. While Cartagena sometimes brings images of glamour and fantastic beaches, the truth of the matter is that there are deep hurts in the city from years of conflict and the FARC menace and there are many needs. These pastors have a vision and are reaching into the slums, the sex trade areas and the refugee shanty towns. We are also working closely with Ps. Jose & family to start a Bible school in nearby Sincelejos after the CEMIM style of Ecuador.
What would have happened if the plan Jesus had for his disciples had full worked? In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus told his disciples to “go and make more disciples…teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you”. Even though many have gone and shared Jesus, far too many have failed to be faithful in sharing about Jesus gift of eternal life. We are clearly reminded in II Timothy 2:2 how to share the gift. It is a pyramid process of sharing with someone who will share with someone else. “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
Is it happening like it should have, no, but it is happening across the world every day. Here is an example of these two scriptures becoming reality. This young Colombian girl was standing in a crowd listening to some Christians sharing about eternal life. At that moment she made a decision that changed her life. Following her university training she served in Thailand for four years sharing about Jesus and helping the needy. Then she returned home to Colombia and became part of the Christians in Action church which lead to her becoming a CinA missionary and returning to Thailand to partner with World Vision in helping street children. Her heart was to learn more ways to help, so she returned to the university to get her Master’s degree in this area. She is studying at the University of Argentina. While studying hard and getting top grades, she still makes time to share about the Jesus she loves. Here is a sentence out of her most recent email.
“My classmate/friend Adry received Jesus a month ago and is growing steadily in Christ and our Heavenly Daddy gives me plenty of opportunities to have conversations about Christian faith and spirituality with my classmates and professors…I enjoy this very much. I have a good group of friends from the Argentinian church, they are like my family here…It’s good to know I can count on them and we spend a lot of time together.”
This is what Jesus meant when he said ‘go and make disciples’. This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he wrote, pass it on to reliable believers who will tell others also. What if every follower of Jesus actually did share daily?
Christians in Action has missionaries actually doing this, daily, in over 20 countries.

Greetings from Cartagena, Colombia. Our CinA national pastors Sixto and Actris took us to the villages where they have started new churches. I had the honor to give the dedication message of the Gospel in two areas. Motor bikes are used as taxis in the city and to go to villages. This was so much fun!
We went to four areas where our CinA Central church teams are working. They share the Gospel by door to door evangelism, open air preaching, prayer walks, and home group meetings.
In the village called Boquilla (little mouth) they meet in wooden shacks around polluted waters infested with mosquitoes. It was sad to see children and people living in these bad conditions. I’m standing on a small barge the locals use to cross onto the other side. At Villa Hermosa church I had the honor again to preach the Word of God. The response to the Alter calls for prayer and healing was awesome.
The purpose for this trip was to prepare these areas for Latin ARMS. This is a medical and dental event scheduled for this August. This outreach is headed by Ron and Virginia McCabe. Our pastors, ladies and church members are taking on responsibilities and logistics with a Cartagena friendly and serving spirit! This includes setting up the ministry sights such as church, school or clinic facilities adequate for this coming event with perhaps 40 volunteers. This will include, registration of patients, evangelism and children’s programs, seeing the doctors or nurses, and praying for healing, etc.
Pastor Sixto and his wife Actriz in the Central Church are already collecting food baskets for this event.
Pray that all things will work out for the good since we’re called to love and serve God and others. Ro. 8:28
Thank you for your prayers and financial support as we continue to serve the Lord. God is faithful to supply all our needs.
